Duration of award(s): It is awarded for one year and extended for the regular duration of the chosen Master’s programme (three or four semesters) provided the applicant is academically successful at the end of his/her first semester of studies.
What does it cover? The Excellence Fellowship consists of a grant amounting to CHF 10’000 to CHF 15’000/year (no teaching duties).
Selection Criteria: Selection of the applicants will be based on excellence. Evaluation will be made on the basis of the documentation sent by the applicants.

How to Apply: Applications should be sent as an unique pdf file by e-mail to the Dean of the Faculty of Science: Excellence-Master-Sciences-at-unige.ch. The application (in English or French) consists of:
1. Application Form
2. A Curriculum Vitae including the transcript of exams passed during the bachelor education, with grades.
3. A two-page essay in which the applicant describes his/her specific scientific interests, specifies the Master’s program at the Faculty of Science he/her would like to pursue, and motivates the intention to pursue a Master of Science programme at the University of Geneva.
4.  Letters of references from two professors (preferably sent by them directly to the e-mail address   indicated below). They should specifically attest if the candidate fulfills the conditions of the Excellence Fellowship Program.
 5. Other pertinent information like results of GRE (General requirement examination), of TOEFL or other language test.

Scholarships are available to support students enrolling in areas of research concentration and research strength and are nearly always given to doctorate by research candidates but can be given to masters


Description of Ideal Candidate:
In order to be eligible for the scholarship you must have a University of South Australia supervisor willing to nominate you for consideration and outstanding academic records, and be a citizen of an overseas country eligible for entry to Australia for the time required to complete the research degree.

Criteria for Australian applicants:
Generally an applicant must have first-class Honours or equivalent to be eligible;
Scholarships are awarded on the basis that the candidate will be studying full-time. In some cases, candidates can apply to receive scholarships on a part-time basis if there are compelling social reasons (eg the need to provide full-time care of children, disabled, sick, injured or elderly). The need to undertake part- or full-time work is not considered a compelling social reason.


Criteria for International applicants:
Generally an applicant must have first-class Honours or equivalent to be eligible;
An awardee must be enrolled on a full-time basis as a candidate for a Masters by Research or PhD at the University of South Australia.
An awardee shall be enrolled as an internal candidate at the University of South Australia.

The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition 2015.

         The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2015 is run by the Royal Commonwealth Society in partnership with Cambridge University Press.

The Royal Commonwealth Society(RSC), founded in 1868, is a network of individuals and organisations committed to improving the lives and prospects of Commonwealth citizens across the world. Through youth empowerment, education and advocacy, the Royal Commonwealth Society promotes the value and the values of the Commonwealth.

The Royal Commonwealth Society (RSC) is inviting young people to share their hopes and concerns for the future, thereby generating an important youth perspective and Commonwealth wide dialogue as the international community gathers to set development goals for the next 15 years.

Awards:
There will be a Winner and Runner-up in Junior and Senior category.

Winners will be flown to London for a week of cultural and educational visits, culminating in a special award event in November 2015. Runners-up will be recognised in national award events. All four top entries will be published by the RCS. A number of Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards will be made in both the Junior and Senior categories, and participants who do not receive an award will be entitled to a certificate of participation.

Eligibility:

It is opened to all Commonwealth citizens aged 18 and under, the Essay Competition offers young people the opportunity to make their voice heard on a global platform and engage with issues important to them. Every year, judges are impressed with the extremely high standard of entry as participants compete with their peers from every corner of the Commonwealth. For many bright and ambitious students, this is the ultimate competition!

Topics: Participants are encouraged to be creative in their response.

Japanese Association of University Women (JAUW) is now calling for Applications for its 2015 International Fellowships.

This program is to offer core funding to financially help you come and stay in Japan when you have found that it is preferable or very important for you to stay in Japan to further pursue your ongoing study/research.

If selected, you must:
engage in the proposed study/research for which the grant is awarded;
submit a written summary report of 500 to 700 words by the end of the funding period;
make an oral presentation based on the above report toward the end ofthe funding period at a meeting to be held by JAUW.

Eligibility

• You are a woman of any nationality but other than Japanese, living outside Japan at the time of application; 
• You have received a Master’s degree or its equivalent, and presently work outside academia, or you are a student/researcher higher than MA /its equivalent level (typically of pre-doctoral or dissertation level). Postdoctoral researchers may apply but they may be placed lower in priority; 
• You have to find a host university or institution in Japan by yourself, and have to submit, at the time of application, a letter of Acceptance from that host or from your prospective supervisor thereof. JAUW will not extend any help regarding to this matter; 
• You have to explain in your proposal why you have to come to stay in Japan to pursue your ongoing study or research; 
• You have to state clearly in your proposal how and in what aspect you will contribute to your home country through your study/ research in Japan. 
• Fellowship

The amount of grant will range from ¥700,000 to ¥1,000,000 per grantee. The duration of your stay in Japan and various other factors will be taken into consideration in deciding the total amount of grant.

This grant is for 5 to 6 months between September 2015 and March 2016, depending on your proposal; One third of the total amount will be paid at the time of your arrival in Japan. The rest will normally be paid within 40 days after the initial payment. However, the latter amount (i.e. two thirds of the total) may be payable in two or three installments, depending on circumstances surrounding the grantee in Japan.

 The Humphrey Program was initiated in 1978 to honor the memory and accomplishments of the late Senator and Vice President, Hubert H. Humphrey.
