Win EF Academic Scholarship for Educators, 2015.

The EF (Education First) was founded in 1965 with the mission of opening the world through education. It is one of the world's largest private education companies.  EF offers programs centered on language learning, travel, and cultural exchange.

The EF Scholarship is open to educators worldwide and covers a full travel cost and course fees of a oneweek Teacher Training Course Abroad in Boston, Cambridge, Malaga, Munich or Paris.


Included:
1.       Airfare from home country to destination
2.       32 lessons/week (40 minutes per lesson)
3.       Accommodation in EF Homestay with half board
4.       Teaching material     
5.       Course certificate

How to participate as educators:
You will download an official application form, fill it and submit a travel-related project led by you and your students. It could be a class trip, an exchange with a class in another country or perhaps a lesson series dedicated to exciting destinations around the world. The application form can be found on www.ef.com/teacherzone


The application must be made through EF’s Teacher Zone and submitted not later than 31 March 2015.  It can be submitted either by email at teacher.zone@ef.com or by post at the following address:

Gates Millennium Scholars Program

The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000 talented students each year to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice. The 2015 GMS Online Application is now open. For the complete list of eligibility criteria, click here.

Graduate: Only for continuing Gates Millennium Scholars in one of the following discipline areas: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science

Value of Awards
Support for the cost of education by covering unmet need and self-help aid, including graduate school funding for continuing Scholars in the areas of computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science.                                              .                                                    
Who is eligible?
African American,
American Indian/Alaska Native,
Asian & Pacific Islander American
Hispanic American

  • Are a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States
  • Have attained a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 on an unweighted 4.0 scale or have earned a GED
  • Will enroll for the first time at a U.S. located, accredited college or university (with the exception of students concurrently pursuing a high school diploma) in the fall of 2015 as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student. First-time college enrollees can also be GED recipients.
  • Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities
  • Meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria
  • Have completed and submitted all three required forms: the student's application (Nominee Personal Information Form), an evaluation of the student's academic record (Nominator Form) and an evaluation of the student's community service and leadership activities (Recommender Form) by the deadline

How to apply
Applicant must complete the following:

  1. Student Application (Nominee Personal Information Form)
  2. Educator’s evaluation of the student’s academic record (Nominator Form)
  3. Evaluation of the student’s community service and leadership activities (Recommender Form) Pell Grant Eligibility

Hence, If selected as GMS finalists, students must demonstrate eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant Program as part of their financial aid package for the 2015 academic year. Students must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid Programs. Students are urged to file a 2015 FAFSA at their earliest opportunity.

The 2015 FAFSA form will be available January 1, 2015 at www.fafsa.gov. Federal Pell Grants typically are awarded to families that demonstrate significant financial need. Eligibility for a Federal Pell Grant is a function of many factors, including dependency status, family income, family size and the number of students in the family.

Millennium Development Scholarship for International Students in UK 2015

The University of the West of England, Bristol offers the Millennium Development Scholarship which is targeted to international students who wish to attain Millennium Development goals within their country.

The recipient of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Development Office and other departments. The recipient will also be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of the course.

**Please note: in order to apply for any UWE scholarships, you must have received an offer to study at UWE Bristol**

Eligibility:
Eligible students must:

  • have achieved the equivalent of a British first class honours in their undergraduate degree
  • have an unconditional offer by 15th November, 2015 of a place to study a one year postgraduate programme at UWE which they have firmly accepted
  • be a new student and be classed as overseas for fees purposes
  • not be a sponsored student or in receipt of another scholarship/award.

Note: the scholarship is mainly for international students for a year masters programme and every applicant will need to provide information on how the scholarship will help them to attain the Millennium Development goals within their country.
