With effect from 7th July 2014, parents will also need to book an appointment at the UK Visa Application Centre for any children under the age of 5 when applying for a UK visa.
This is for the purpose of biometric capturing.
A facial image (photograph) will be taken of child applicants as part of the submission process. Children under 5 are however not required to provide fingerprints.
